How old do I have to be to join my local Civil Air Patrol?

I’m currently 15, turning 16 in July. I’m interested, any info will be much appreciated.

12. So you’ve got it made. You are required to attend three meetings before you join, so you can decide whether you think it is right for you. In the meantime, try learning some of the drill commands and the Cadet Oath in advance. In my squadron, anyway, you don’t get your uniform and card very quickly, so be patient. Get used to calling superiors “sir”. Make sure that your hair does not touch your ears and is in a neat fashion. Go to www.cap.org for more information.
