Airplane Wood

My son has to create a weapon from WW II either an airplane, tank, or gun that is non dangerous.?
The project must be homemade out of paper, wood, clay or some other natural material. They must not be dangerous!! Any step by step instructions?
Bangalore Torpedo.
Its basically a pole of explosives with a fuse at the tip. He can make one by combining paper towel rolls and painting them black…add a fuse.
They were used to throw underneath barbed wire to blow it up. Famous scene – D-Day invasion scene of Saving Private Ryan
