Campaign Medal

No Campaign medals for the Norway invasion in World War 11?
In 1940 the Allies, including British and French Army, Navy and Airforce attacked the German held coasts of Norway. After bitter fighting even as far north as Narvic and Harstad, the Allies pulled out. The Brits. lost 2000 men amongst the 6000 total losses. Valuable warships and aircraft were destroyed as was much of the Norwegian coastal defences.
This action involving so many brave servicemen was hushed up for years, and was not apparently cememorated in Great Britain with a campaign medal of its own. I understand Norway awarded campaign medals to its brave defenders. The 1940/45 European War medals were awarded to our service personnel at the end of the war, but it seems that memories and decorations for this early Scandinavian battle will now fade away into oblivion.
