Division Patch
Can anyone identify a WWII patch (probably US Army)?
The patch consists of a red circle enclosing what looks like the Army Corps of Engineers “castle”. A large white Roman numeral one is superimposed on the castle, between the turrets. We found this in my father’s belongings. He was an Army draftsmen during the war, serving with the 90th Infantry Division. Thanks in advance.

The 315th Engineer Combat Battalion is NOW the 315th Engineer Company, a part of the California National Guard… http://www.calguard.ca.gov/315engr/Pages/default.aspx
In my searches though I couldn’t find the patch you describe.
EDIT: There was NO 1st Engineering Brigade during World War II… it was the 1st Engineering Special Brigade, and their patch doesn’t match that described: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Engineer_Special_Brigade_(United_States) NOR was it a part of the 90th ID
The 1st Engineer Combat Battalion, was assigned to the 1st Infantry Division (The Big Red One), and NOT to the 90th ID, and again their patch does not match that described. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1st_Engineer_Battalion#World_War_II
