Garrison Cap

Is it true that in 2011, troops in airborne units will not be allowed to wear boots with dress uniforms?
Was reading an ariticle in Wikipedia and saw that later this year a new army uniform dress code will be issued and part of that code will no longer allow troops serving with airborne units to wear paratrooper boots with their dress uniforms. The dress code will become effective in 2011.
First they took away the garrison cap with the airborne emblem on the cap——replaced it with some “frenchy” looking berets—–now they want to take jumpboots with dress uniforms!!!!
Jumpboots with dress uniforms have been a part of airborne tradition for the past 60 years!!!!
Say it ain’t so!!!!
The only thing better looking than a paratrooper in his dress unifrom with his jumpboots on is a Marine in his dress blues.
I wish you were mistaken, but it is true.
I am a proud Paratrooper, and its going to break my heart when once more the US Army decides to try to make everyone the same and destroy traditions and symbols of the elite units. Paratroopers have always worn their jump boots, and now its being taken away from us.
I will give credit to the USMC on one thing, they know and understand the value in keeping traditions alive.
