Imperial Japanese

Why is the japanese imperial navy & army flag used today?
Japans maritime self defense force (JMSDF) are still using the old WW2 imperial flag on navy ships. Sometimes I wonder if the japanese military know what the flag had meant in the past and even today.
Yes, JGSDF, JMSDF and JASDF have their own flags, just like USAF, USA, USN, USMC have their own flags. What’s wrong with that?
Are you saying that when a country lost a war, the “loser” have to change their flag? Well, the U.S. lost a war in Vietnam. Did the Vietnamese demand “Hey, USA! You have to change your military flags, if not your national flag?” No! Ho Chi Minh was not that nonsense guy.
When a war is over and peace is restored, it is wise not to intervene other nation’s internal affaris.
