What’s the difference between the US Navy and the US Marine?

Depends on your job. Most Navy cats are out on boats, a lot are on land (IA, TEAMS, EOD, and SECURITY). Most Marines are land based however there are a lot of marines on boats too. VMFA (F/A-18 and AV-8B) squadrons some are ship based with all there maintainers. The traditional lines are still there just blurred, those lines being Marines are riflemen, and Sailors are on boats. I don’t like big boats, I love guns and I’m in the Navy but I fight on land with ALL the other services. Like I said it just depends on your job.
