What shall I wear in order to look like…?

What shall I wear on a Carnival Party so that I look like Mia Thermopolis from the Princess Diaries.I was planning to wear something normal so I thought this was just it.I want to wear like some boots(she usually wears combat boots but it is OK,I guess) and a backpack with Greenpeace badges on it.I need some help with that even though this sounds stupid!Good Luck everyone and thank you all!:)
