Officer Collar

What is the likely punishment for killing 4 police officers?
I heard on the news that a man shot and killed 4 police officers inside a coffee shop.
Assuming the suspect is captured and convicted and/or pleads guilty and has no mental incapacity,
1) Would this be a felony or a misdemeanor?
2) How much bail would the convict have to pay to be released until trial?
3) Would the criminal be confined to a white-collar resort jail or a blue-collar jail?
4) What if the suspect apologizes, would he be able to have his sentence commuted?
5) How many years till he would be up for parole?
1) It’s a felony.
2) There is no possibility whatsoever that this person would get bail.
3) There aren’t really blue-collar and white-collar jails. There are levels of security, and this person would almost certainly get maximum security.
4) It’s possible, but very unlikely.
5) Depends on the sentence. In the case you’re talking about, it happened in a death penalty state, and it’s very likely that the prosecutor will seek the death penalty. If convicted of that, they leave prison feet first.
