School Patch

Israel Elementary School’s mission is to create educational opportunities for those who can’t afford to pay a private school. An important goal is to encourage children to persue high school, and later post-secondary education, by providing free elementary education to start them off. This school serves several communities in and around the Moyogalpa area on Ometepe Island. There are two class schedules available for students, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. This allows for the fact that many children need to help thier families with farm chores, selling produce, etcetera for a portion of the day. The majority of students are children that come from low income families. Often, Israel Elementary will donate funds to help suppliment expenses for uniforms, and school supplies, so the children won’t have to drop out of school. The school recieves all its funding from an Evangelical Church located in Managua, and recieves no financial help from the Nicaraguan government.
