What do USAF Security Force Apprentices Do?
After HS, I am wanting to go straight into the USAF enlisted. I want to go in as a Security Force Apprentice. I want to know what they do and I saw that they don’t do anything with war. I don’t mind going and fighting I’m just wondering if they do or not also.
A Security Forces member will deploy. There are a multitude of jobs you may do. I have 3P’s in my unit, and they have defended base perimeters, engaging and killing enemy combatants, you will have things to do with war. SF personnel do everything from base perimeter protection, to the law enforcement aspect of the job, to being a military working dog handler, to military police investigations etc. So despite some of the earlier answers you will deploy often, and your life may be put at risk in your day to day duties. Like any career it will be what you make of it.
