What size will my 20 lb, 12 week old male German Shepherd puppy be when fully grown ?
His Sire and Dam are both champions and he has a long list of champions in his line. I only saw photos of his Sire, and he appeared to be good size. His mother seems a bit on the small side to me ( I have a large 85 lb female GSD ). But our puppy ( Teddy ) was definitely the largest in the litter.
If his sire & dam are both Champions then they are correct sized GSDs… The standard calls for females 22-24 inches, usually 55-70 pounds.
The breed standard calls for males 24-26 inches tall, which usually ranges from 75-95 pounds. This will be the size of your male. I would guess closer to 26 inches, 90 pounds… As even the showlines are getting bigger these days.
