States Military

Which political side is more likely to support the United States Military?
Republicans? Or Democrats? Which are more against war, and which support it. Who has more love for the troops? What are most military families now-a-days? Thanks for you input.
Thats easy… Republicans. Typically during a republican presidency military pay goes up, deployment is down (Bush was an abberation) and peace through strength is the mantra. The last few Democrats have cut military budgets, imposed useless policy changes upon them (don’t ask don’t tell is still the biggest piece of garbage feel good legislation that ever came about) and Clinton holds the record for number of incursions into different countries. Here is something that was passed down to me that shows the difference. Clinton rarely saluted his honor guard while entering or exiting Airforce one, The honor guard is required to salute the Commander in Chief and protocol is for the salute to be returned. Bush once entered Airforce one with his dog in his arms, set the dog down inside the aircraft and then exited to return the salute. He ALWAYS rendered a salute to his honor guard. That shows the level of respect that each individual has for the military and pretty much says how much respect the parties have for the military.
Joe… you should probably get a better understanding about the laws and regulations regarding the use of the military inside the US. They have to be requested by the state’s governor before they are allowed to deploy into a state…. Blanco didn’t do that until three days after Katrina hit.
