XP vs Vista? Info needed?
I Have recently bought a Dell Vostro 1700 Laptop, 2.GHZ Core 2 Duo, 2GB ram.
It came pre installed with Vista, its the first time i have used it, and I do like it.
However, i have a feeling XP will be better for torrent use, reliability, and compatability.
Can anyone tell me if, with the specs i have, XP would run faster than Vista. I ask this because i know Vista requires more memory to opperate, but someone said it uses Dual Core better.
I mean with my ram and processer, would i notice an increase in performance because XP requires less of it to opperate.
I have also read, Vista somehow increase internet connection speed ever so slightly, and from my experience that seems to be tru.
On my friends laptop (xp) i was getting an average result of 11200Kbs on www.speedtest.net. On my new vista laptop, it seems to get an average of 11750-12000Kbs.
Finally, i have bought Kaspersky Internet Security on line. Will it let me install it again with the same serial key?
Your spec is absolutely fine for Vista so now you have it stay with it.
I doubt if it is legal to install KIS twice with the same key.
