Unit Patch

Can a Unit comander make everyone in his unit wear the same combat patch?
even if members of said unit have came from other places and are allowed other patches?
No. There was a big pissing contest with a Soldier in Iraq in early 2008. It was covered extensively in Stars and Stripes. The Soldier wore the combat patch from a previous deployment to honor some friends that were killed. The commander ordered the current patch worn, the Soldier didn’t comply. He was given a counseling statement and it got publicized. The commander “explained” his order only applied to leaders. The NCO chain tried to counsel the Soldier because all NCOs were leaders. He still wore his previous combat patch. Army HRC stepped in on the side of the Soldier. He could wear the previous combat patch. The commander can’t specify which patch Soldiers will wear if they are entitled to more than one. The Soldier was having problems with his NCO Evaluation Report however.
Nice distortion patch for ZOOM G2 multi-effect unit
